Kibale National Park is the primates capital of the world that harbors the greatest variety and concentration of primates not found anywhere else. It is an extensive National Park, protecting a large block of a rain forest

that offers some exceptional opportunities for Chimps trekking and bird watching which makes this forest ideal for primate watching safaris in Uganda. The local community plays an important role in conservation of the park. It’s also idea for a nature walk due to Bigodi wetland sanctuary a home of different bird species especially the great blue turacco and the other aquatic life found in the wetlands.

DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY
Day 1: Travel to Kibale Chimpanzee Forest National Park
After early breakfast, have a half day drive west via Mityana to Fort Portal, passing though luxuriant countryside, traditional homesteads and farms. Pass through Fort Portal that rests in the shadows of Rwenzori Mountain “Mountains of the Moon” and Kibale National Park. Have dinner and overnight at a comfortable lodge. Accommodation: Ndali Lodge or Kyaninga Lodge or Primates Lodge or Chimpanzee Guest House. Meal Plan: Full Board. Travel time: About 7 Hours

DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking, Cultural Entertainment: After Breakfast, move into the Forest, for primate viewing but before the activity starts you will be briefed by a park ranger. The activity starts early in the morning at 8.00 a.m. A half day search for chimps and monkeys including phoestes, Red-Colobuses, Blue, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the impenetrable forest. You will also see varieties of birds, butterflies and many small insects. The ranger will provide detailed explanations on not only the primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. After lunch, a visit to Bigodi wetland an eco-tourism site is incredible as you shall encounter rare and beautiful aquatic life.

Day 3: Visit the crater lakes region and return to Kampala: Have an early breakfast and drive through the great rift valley region for a beautiful scenery due to the many crater lakes found there, and later proceed to Kampala having lunch en route. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch. Travel Time: About 7 Hours
